Under her leadership since January 2023, VunaPay has aimed to transform the agricultural sector, which accounts for 30% of Africa’s GDP, by empowering smallholder farmers who produce 80% of the continent’s agricultural output.

In addition to her role at VunaPay, Gatwiri serves as a Co-Founder of SIDAI Concrete Limited, applying technology to revolutionize ready-mix concrete production. She is also an entrepreneur within Antler’s Startup Accelerator Program, where she began her techpreneurship journey in early 2023.

Previously he worked at Emerging Capital Partners, an Africa-focused private equity fund based in Nairobi, Kenya. Prior to Emerging Capital Partners, Tsendai was an Associate at H.I.G. Hilda Moraa is a celebrated Kenyan innovator, author, and entrepreneur with over 15 years of expertise in fintech, innovation, regulation, and entrepreneurship. She is the Founder and CEO of Pezesha, a digital financial infrastructure empowering SMEs and institutions across Africa with affordable working capital. Under her leadership, Pezesha became the first fintech to successfully exit and gain approval from the CMA regulatory sandbox, solidifying its position as a pioneer in Africa’s fintech ecosystem.

Previously, Hilda founded WezaTele, a fintech startup in Kenya that achieved a significant milestone by being acquired in 2015—a testament to her ability to build and scale impactful ventures.

Her outstanding contributions to innovation have earned her numerous accolades, including being named one of the Top 40 Under 40 Women in Kenya (2015), Quartz Africa’s Top 30 Innovators (2018), and most recently, a Bloomberg New Economy Catalyst (2023). In March 2024, she was honored as the Tech & Innovation Winner by Forbes Woman Africa.

Hilda holds a Business Information Technology degree from Strathmore University and has shared her entrepreneurial wisdom through her acclaimed book, A Kenyan Startup Journey: 10 Key Lessons I Learnt, written at the age of 26. As the Group CEO of Craft Silicon, I lead a team of over 1,000 professionals who provide end-to-end software technology solutions for banks, financial institutions, and microfinance organizations in Africa and emerging Asia. I have successfully expanded our customer base to over 300 clients and launched our own payment gateway that connects to most African countries.

In addition to my role at Craft Silicon, I am also the founder of Little, a pan-African super app platform that offers ride, delivery, health, and payment services. I am passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to create innovative and impactful products that improve the lives of millions of people. That is why I also mentor aspiring AI learners and entrepreneurs at bluBeetle.ai, a platform that connects AI experts with the next generation of AI talent.

And as part of our CSR, we operate Craft Silicon Foundation, that provides free computer education to thousands of young people across several countries.

Jane Munga is a distinguished expert in technology policy and governance, currently serving as a Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Since March 2022, she has focused on research and analysis of Africa’s digital landscape, providing critical policy insights to foster growth and innovation in the region.

Jane’s extensive career in public policy and technology includes her role as an Economic Expert and Advisor to the Cabinet Secretary at Kenya’s Ministry of ICT. From 2018 to 2022, she played a pivotal role in shaping national ICT strategies. Prior to that, she served as a Technical Advisor on Policy for the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, as well as the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology. These roles involved advancing Kenya’s digital transformation agenda through strategic policy development and implementation.

Her career also includes academic contributions as a Visiting Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of Southern Mississippi and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Alabama. In academia, she specialized in teaching world politics, international law, and the foreign policy of major powers while conducting impactful research on peace and mediation in Africa.

Jane’s global experience includes serving as a Support Advisor for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Yemen, where she contributed to national capacity-building initiatives and livelihood regeneration programs. She also worked with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) as a Health Unit Administrator, managing field projects and coordinating international programs across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
